Can a scientist believe in God?
Many have and many do. The founders of modern science such as Kepler, Boyle, Newton, Faraday and Maxwell believed in God, as do leading scientists today, such as Francis Collins.
Science asks how the natural world works. Whether there is more than the natural world is a question science cannot answer by itself.
