Other worldviews, tested fairly

Why other paths fall short

Every worldview answers the same questions: where we came from, what is wrong with us, how it can be fixed and where we are going. Here we set out what the main alternatives actually teach, from their own sources, and show where they part from the evidence and from Jesus, the only way. Ideas are critiqued; people are respected.

Atheism and naturalism

Naturalism says nature is all there is. It struggles to explain why there is a universe at all, why it is rationally ordered, why our minds can be trusted and why anything is truly right or wrong.

Relativism: there is no absolute truth

The claim that there is no absolute truth is itself offered as absolutely true. Relativism cannot be lived consistently, and Jesus said He is the truth.

Islam

Islam honours Jesus as a prophet but denies that He is the Son of God and, in the Quran's usual reading, that He was crucified. History and the earliest sources say He was crucified, and He claimed far more than a prophet.

Judaism and the Messiah

Christianity began as a Jewish faith: Jesus and the apostles were Jews, and the Hebrew Scriptures point to the Messiah. The question between Jews and Christians is whether Jesus is that Messiah.

Mormonism (Latter-day Saints)

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints adds new scriptures and teaches that God was once a man and that people may become gods. The Bible teaches one eternal God, and its message needs no later restoration.

Jehovah's Witnesses

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus is a created being, the archangel Michael, and not God. The New Testament calls Jesus God, gives Him worship and says all things were made through Him.

Scientology

Scientology teaches that a person is a thetan, an immortal spiritual being who must be freed through auditing and costly courses. The Bible says our problem is sin against God, and freedom is a gift, not a purchase.

Buddhism

Buddhism teaches that suffering comes from craving and ends in nirvana through one's own effort along the Eightfold Path, without a creator God. The Bible names the deeper problem as sin and offers grace from a personal God.

New Age and pantheism

Pantheism says everything is divine and the self is god. The Bible says God made the universe and is distinct from it, and that we are creatures who need a Saviour, not gods who need awakening.

Welcome to ApologeticTok

ApologeticTok makes one case: Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). The evidence for His resurrection, His unique claims, fulfilled prophecy and a reliable Bible all point there, and so does a fair look at the alternatives.

Every historical claim names its source and every Bible verse is quoted word for word with its reference, so you can check it. Where scholars disagree, we say so.
