Why other paths fall short
Islam
Islam honours Jesus as a prophet but denies that He is the Son of God and, in the Quran's usual reading, that He was crucified. History and the earliest sources say He was crucified, and He claimed far more than a prophet.
What Islam teaches about Jesus
The Quran calls Jesus the Messiah, born of a virgin, and a prophet, but Sura 4:157 is usually read as saying He was not killed or crucified. Islam teaches God has no son.
Where it goes wrong
The crucifixion is one of the best-attested events of ancient history, reported by Christian and non-Christian sources within a century; the Quran's denial comes about six hundred years later. Jesus Himself predicted His death and resurrection and accepted worship.
31He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
