Why other paths fall short
Judaism and the Messiah
Christianity began as a Jewish faith: Jesus and the apostles were Jews, and the Hebrew Scriptures point to the Messiah. The question between Jews and Christians is whether Jesus is that Messiah.
Shared ground
Christians and Jews share the Hebrew Scriptures and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Paul wrote with deep love for his own people.
1I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit 2that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart. 3For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh 4who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises; 5of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.

16For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

The question of the Messiah
Isaiah's suffering servant, Daniel's timeline and the promise to David point, Christians believe, to Jesus, who rose from the dead as the vindicated Messiah. Many Jewish people through history have come to the same conclusion.
5But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.

Where Christians disagree
- Jewish interpreters read the key passages differently (for example Isaiah 53 as Israel). JewTok goes through them carefully and respectfully.
